The Social Network (2010)

Director: David Fincher

Cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Rooney Mara, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake

The Social Network tells the story ofception of Facebook. It is very well researched movie. There have even been rumors that Natalie Portman actually helped with the research, as she was in Harvard from 1999-2003.

David Fincher is definitely getting better with every movie. It's hard to find anything technically wrong in his work. All the players deliver a very powerful and in-sync performance.Especially Justin Timberlake as Napster prodigy Sean Parker. Thank God to him it is not the Facebook. Analyze that. 🙂

Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg is very commendable but not sure how real, as Eisenberg never got in touch with real Mark for his role! Strange. Andrew Garfield as Mark's Roommate and erstwhile best friend compliments Eisenberg incredibly. There is a strong chemistry between them. Maybe director wants you to believe that.

The characters of Rowing brother twins are very soothing, because of director's obvious need to make Mark Zukerberg look a bit dark. One of the twins is actually acted out by a headless model! He has only been shot head down and face of the other twin has been superimposed. And one can never point out any glitches. Incredible effects work in that part.

Some things look a bit too far fetched and more like conceived out of director's own evaluation of human psyche than real research. For example the youngest billionaire waiting on a girl who ditched him! Might be true, may not be true. Only the real Mark Zuckerberg can tell that and he probably will not. Although we all have heard about "true love makes you do out of ordinary things"!

In all a very good movie but could have been more believable if real Mark Zuckerberg was involved in it in some way.

8/10
